Firstly, it can be difficult to give an estimate of what your case will cost. The complexity of your circumstances and the willingness of the other party engage can be important in the overall costs. Of course, our lawyers will endeavor to give you an estimate or an indication of what the costs might be, and the structure of our fees so that you are fully informed. 

Therefore, to get an estimated cost for your case, contact our office. We’ll give you a no-cost, no-obligation phone call to understand your situation, your relationship, and what needs to be legally determined. 

After that, we’ll invite you to a strategy session where we’ll dive into your case more deeply. This family law consultation has a low-cost fixed fee of $350 and will provide an outline for your individual matter with our estimate of the total cost of proceedings. 

Finally, we’ll also explain how and why these costs may change. Whether it’s ways we can lower the costs or reasons why we may need to work for longer on your case, it’s always good to know what’s happening. 

ACT family law surrounding marriage, divorce and life after separation are all set federally. This means that wherever you get divorced in Canberra, you have to go through the same process and are subject to the same rules as the rest of Australia.
