Damira Hidic is a Principal Lawyer and Practice Leader on the Gold Coast. She has practiced as a lawyer specialising in family law since 2003. She began her career in 1998 as an Articled Clark in one of the prominent multidiscipline firms on the Gold Coast gaining experience in Migration Law, Wills & Estates, Property Law and Family Law. Damira is an Accredited Family Law Specialist, a Nationally Accredited Mediator, a Collaboratively Trained Lawyer and Damira was recognised for her work in family law and listed as a Recommended Lawyer, and in the category Leading Family & Divorce Lawyers Guide – Gold Coast in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Damira provides advice on all aspects of family law and divorce proceedings, including de facto and same-sex couples, complex property and parenting matters, spousal maintenance, multi-jurisdiction matters, relocation, child abduction under the Hague Convention, child support and binding financial agreements (BFAs). Damira Hidic often acts for client who are based overseas or who have an overseas connection, such as assets and superannuation that may be held abroad or those clients who wish to relocate overseas with their children.

Damira Hidic works closely with accountants, financial planners and other professional advisors to ensure that any tax implications and restructuring are adequately covered as part of any property settlement.

Damira’s approach is tailored to each individual client’s needs, with appreciation that for majority of clients separation is one of the most difficult and challenging times. She is conscious of the financial pressures that clients experience during a family law dispute and focuses on negotiation and alternative dispute resolution where suitable. Damira brings empathy, great attention to detail, strategic approach and expert knowledge about family law. Damira is dedicated to protecting her client’s interests and ensuring her clients understand their rights, entitlements, and options throughout the court/negotiation process to empower and equip the clients to make decisions and choices that reflect their specific objectives and circumstances.
